Leicester East MP tells family of missing boy her ‘heart is breaking for them’
The MP for Leicester East has said her “heart is breaking” for the family of the two-year-old boy who fell into the River Soar. Claudia Webbe also paid tribute to all the search teams involved in the operation to find little Xielo Maruziva.
It has now been more than two weeks since he fell into the River Soar while he and his family were walking along a towpath near Marsden Lane in Aylestone Meadows. The desperate search to find him has been unsuccessful so far.
Ms Webbe, the Independent MP for the area, said: “The anguish that little Xielo’s family must be feeling is unimaginable to anyone who hasn’t gone through it, but it must be made worse by the fact that the search for him has so far been unsuccessful. What can anyone say in such circumstances, but I want them to know that my heart is breaking for them and I only hope that he is soon found so that they can begin to resolve the questions they must be facing and to process their grief.
