Milly’s academic achievements earn her an award, presented by Claudia Webbe MP
ACADEMIC excellence has earned a student a British Education Award.
Milly Kotecha, a former student at Leicester Grammar School, was presented with the award at a ceremony in Manchester by Leicester East MP Claudia Webbe.
The award recognied her achievements at A-level and “unique talent in creativity”.
In sixth form, Milly achieved success in national competitions, including a drama performance monologue from Euripides’s Electra, (shortlisted by Oxford university for the David Raeburn Prize); producing and acting in a short docu-drama on Achilles, (second place in the Cambridge Classics AV Competition); and creative writing (with her work Orestes Wrath of the Erinyes broadcast in a podcast by the Classical Association).
“There were so many talented young people there,” Milly said.
“The whole evening was incredible and to have Claudia Webbe there presenting the award was simply surreal.”
Milly is now studying at Cambridge University.
