British MP Webbe, who filed a complaint with the ICC for Israel’s prosecution, spoke to AA

British MP Claudia Webbe, who filed an official complaint with the International Criminal Court (ICC), said that those involved in the attacks in Gaza and Israel’s international accomplices should be tried in criminal courts.

Webbe, an independent MP in the British parliament, made evaluations to the AA correspondent regarding the destruction caused by Israel’s attacks in Gaza, the humanitarian crisis, and the allegations that Britain is Israel’s accomplice due to its political and military support.

Webbe stated that the situation in Gaza is devastating and pointed out that Israel’s attacks against the people of Gaza, which have been continuing for more than 160 days, are of terrible magnitude.

Emphasizing that the International Court of Justice (ICJ) determined that these attacks carried a reasonable risk of genocide, Webbe said, “We are in the month of Ramadan. There is neither a break nor a ceasefire. This is absolutely devastating.” he said.

Webbe stated that Israel uses hunger as a “weapon of war” and that bombardments and air strikes against civilians in Gaza continue, adding that people are losing their lives in Gaza every day and that women and children are especially affected by this situation.

“This is horrifying and it is absolutely horrifying that we are witnessing this in real time.” Webbe stated that a clear call for a ceasefire should be made and a serious call should be made to Israel to end the bombardment and oppression against the people of Gaza.

”Those involved in acts of attack should be brought before criminal courts”

British MP Webbe made the following evaluations regarding the official complaint he filed with the ICC in December 2023, calling for the investigation and prosecution of war crimes committed by the Israeli government against the Palestinian people, including genocide and crimes against humanity:

“I believe in the people of Gaza that those who are involved in acts of attack against civilians should be brought before criminal courts and held accountable for their actions and decisions. Therefore, I call on the Israeli government, those in key roles, including (Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin) Netanyahu, and his entire cabinet, to be complicit in these murders, directing the murders.” “I hold them responsible for causing harm to the people of Gaza.”

”It is clear that Britain is an accomplice”

Regarding the allegations that Israel is an accomplice, citing the political and military support that Britain has provided to Israel, Webbe said: “Britain has not only been protecting Israel since October 7, but has also been attacking Israel for a while.” “It is clear that he is also complicit in the ongoing arms supply.” said.

Underlining that Britain should stop arming Israel, Webbe stated that his country, on the other hand, gave arms sales licenses to Israel and continued to provide military aid.

Webbe stated that these actions of the UK amount to complicity in the genocide committed against the civilian population in Gaza, and this must stop now.

The British parliamentarian said, “For this reason, international actors must hold countries such as the UK and the USA to account for their actions. England is complicit with the USA by following the actions of the USA against the people of Gaza.” he said.

Webbe also called on the British government to stop the bloodshed in Gaza and concluded his words as follows:

“The British government must immediately stop arms aid to Israel. It must immediately impose sanctions. It must restart its financing of the United Nations (UN) Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), which will provide the necessary food and resources to the people of Gaza. It must do this immediately.”

British MP Webbe reviewed AA’s book “Evidence”

After the interview, Webbe reviewed Anadolu Agency’s (AA) book “Evidence”, which contains documentary photographs of Israel’s war crimes, especially the use of white phosphorus in its attacks on Gaza.

Webbe, who was informed that AA had documented the violations in Gaza and brought them to the attention of the international public with this book, later commented on some of the photographs in the book.

Examining a photo showing that Palestinians, who were subjected to violent attacks by the Israeli army, migrated to the southern regions, Webbe said, “This is absolutely terrible. It is like the new Nakba. It is the continuation of the Nakba. 75 years have passed since the Nakba.” he said.

Webbe then thanked the book and all the work done in its preparation.

The book “Evidence” documents Israel’s crimes

While most countries, especially Western countries, remained silent about the attacks carried out by Israel indiscriminately against women and children in Gaza, some countries put forward the thesis of “lack of evidence” for the massacres.

Following the allegations in question, AA decided to compile the images of photojournalists and cameramen who have played an important role since the beginning of the attacks, in order to serve as evidence in international law.

The book, prepared in Turkish, English and Arabic by an expert team, was published under the name “evidence”. In Evidence, the crimes against humanity committed by Israel in Gaza were revealed with documentary photographs.

Photographs of white phosphorus artillery shells used by the Israeli army in densely populated civilian areas of Gaza, the use of which is a crime according to the UN Conventional Weapons Convention, were also included in the book.
